BENTLEY UNVEILS THE NEW BEYOND100 STRATEGY - 5 NEW ELECTRIC CARS BY 2025

Bentley Motors announces the new Beyond100 strategy. At the heart of the program is the Five-in-Five Plan. As part of this, Bentley will launch a new electric model every year from 2025, with the aim of establishing itself as a benchmark manufacturer for sustainable luxury mobility.

In addition, Bentley announced that £2.5 billion will be invested in sustainability to implement this strategy. It was also confirmed that the first Bentley electric vehicle will be designed, developed and produced at the company's headquarters in Crewe, England, from 2025. The investment will also enable a fundamental renewal of the manufacturing infrastructure at Crewe and help secure Bentley's future at Crewe for the next generation of products and employees. Crewe is set to become a "dream factory" - a digital, environmentally neutral, flexible and high-quality production facility.

The company has already made tremendous progress in transforming the historic Crewe site, creating an industry-leading plant that is certified carbon neutral. The new investments and the push for the Beyond100 strategy now provide the foundation for reducing Bentley's carbon footprint across all products and non-manufacturing activities in line with the 2030 carbon neutrality target.

Recent initiatives include the expansion of on-site energy generation at Crewe. This will involve increasing the number of solar panels from 30,000 to 40,000 over the next two years. In addition, Bentley is looking at the use of sustainable biofuel in fleet vehicles, including those from its legendary Heritage Collection. Corresponding efforts are also expected from Bentley's global contractors, all of whom are expected to become carbon neutral by 2025.

The new Dream Factory includes a go-zero approach to manufacturing-related environmental impacts. Having already achieved carbon neutral production in 2019, Bentley aims to reduce water use, landfill waste and other environmental impacts to an absolute minimum for every vehicle built at Crewe by 2030.

With its current model range, the luxury brand is already a leader in the field of luxury hybrid vehicles. Bentley will further consolidate this position with the launch of the Flying Spur plug-in hybrid in 2022 and five further model versions to complement the current Bentayga plug-in hybrid.

Adrian Hallmark, chairman and chief executive of Bentley Motors, said:

"Pushing our Beyond100 strategy while securing the production of battery-powered electric vehicles at Crewe and investing £2.5 billion makes this an important milestone in Bentley's 102-year history. It is a positive signal for the Bentley family, our suppliers and partners, and the UK automotive and manufacturing industries as a whole."

"The recent announcement on Bentley's Beyond100 plan underpins the start of an important transformation phase in the company's long and illustrious history. The world is changing, and we must do our part to improve environmental sustainability. That's why we must achieve our goal of full carbon neutrality by 2030 and maintain our role as a leader in sustainable luxury mobility."
